ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice (CJ) Anwar Zaheer Jamali has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat and appreciated the efforts of the body for extensively working on highlighting the issues and suggestions their solutions.
A delegation of Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat led by Federal Ombudsman M Salman Faruqui called on Chief Justice Jamali at the Supreme Court here on Tuesday, where the expressed the hope that the federal ombudsman will be working with the same zeal for the betterment of the country.
During the meeting, Faruqui presented three separate reports on prison, police stations and pension issues, which were prepared under the directions of the SC of Pakistan. These reports identify maladministration and systemic failures and also suggest ways and means to bring improvements for the effective and smooth functioning of the institutions so that the grievances of public at large can be redressed expeditiously. Faruqui also briefed the meeting about the future roadmap of the institution by establishing its centres at district level to provide relief to the masses.
