The government will announce its policy on five million housing programme on October 10.
According to details, the decision was made at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The meeting decided that the five million houses would be completed in two phases as 2.5 million houses would be constructed in each phase. The meeting pondered over the construction of houses on Malaysian model houses.
According to details, the houses will be provided to citizens on 15 to 20 years instalments.

The premier said that provision of five million houses, equipped with all basic facilities, was a foremost priority of the government.
Prime Minister directed the committee to finalise its recommendations regarding formulation of a comprehensive plan of action with delineated timelines within two weeks for early roll out of the housing programme.
Imran said that negligence or delay would not be tolerated in this regard.
